How court hearing reminders work

There are two separate mechanisms. First, you can set a manual reminder per hearing — you choose how far in advance to be notified. This is not automatic; you set it yourself per hearing. Second, separately from reminders, each tracked court case has an alerts switch, and each person turns on their own — when yours is on, you are automatically notified of any hearing date change or new court order on that case, and turning yours off never affects anyone else. These two mechanisms are independent of each other.
