There are two separate mechanisms. First, you can set a manual reminder per hearing — you choose how far in advance to be notified. This is not automatic; you set it yourself per hearing. Second, separately from reminders, each matter has an "alerts enabled" toggle — when on, it automatically notifies you of any hearing date change or new court order on that matter. These two mechanisms are independent of each other.
