Uploading a file
An upload can be filed three ways: auto-detect, where the system suggests where it belongs; select, where you pick an existing folder yourself; or create, where you make a new folder inline as part of the same upload. Either way, you can also optionally link the file to a case and to a category.
Once a file exists, you can move it between folders by drag-and-drop, rename it, preview it, download it, or delete it.
- Filing modes: auto-detect, select an existing folder, or create a new folder inline
- Optional links: case, category
Automatic indexing for AI search
Every file you upload here is automatically queued into the same indexing pipeline the Knowledge module manages, so once indexing finishes the document becomes a source the AI assistant can search and cite from. If indexing fails, the file's status shows as failed or not indexed, and you can retry it manually.
AI actions on a document
From a document you can open an AI menu with Summarize, Extract dates and parties, Review risks, or Compare versions. Every one of these is explicitly read-only by design. They're prompted to never change the underlying record.

Good to know
- Uploads are blocked once the firm's storage quota is full. Free up space or increase the plan's storage limit before trying again.
- A file being indexed is not instant. Until indexing completes, the Assistant can't yet search or cite it as a source.
