Creating and editing a task

A task is created with a title, optional case link, due date, status, priority, and description.

The create and edit forms do not include an assignee field. Every task starts unassigned from the form itself.

Assigning a task

Assignment happens on the task's own detail page, using the Team Assignment card, not in the create or edit form.

A task can have one primary assignee plus any number of additional team members, and the primary assignee can be changed or removed independently of the rest of the team.

Working in List or Board view

Tasks can be viewed as a List or as a Board (Kanban) grouped by status; you can move a task between statuses from either view.

Your choice of List or Board is remembered in your browser, so QubitPilot opens back to the view you last used.

  • Team members who are not admins or owners only ever see their own tasks. There is no option to browse everyone else's.

Comments

Each task has a threaded comment log, and a single comment can carry one file attachment.

Comments are paginated, loading five at a time as you scroll back through the history.

How to

How to create a task

  1. Open Tasks and select Add task (or add one directly from a case's detail page, which pre-links it to that case).
  2. Enter a title and, optionally, a due date, case, status, and priority.
  3. Save the task: it is created unassigned.

How to assign a task to someone

  1. Open the task's detail page.
  2. In the Team Assignment card, set a primary assignee and add any additional team members needed.
  3. The assignment can be changed later from the same card at any time.

Good to know

  • There is no assignee field when creating or editing a task. Assignment is always a second step on the task's detail page.
  • Non-admin, non-owner users are restricted to seeing only their own tasks.
  • Your List/Board view preference is saved per browser, not per account.

  • CalendarThe calendar tracks court hearings only: every event on it is a hearing tied to a case, not a general-purpose scheduling tool.
